Frequently Asked Questions
Why did you start this site?
Though I’ve watched GDQ for a while, it wasn’t until SGDQ 2019 that I decided to pick up a pin (the pin from The Yetee) because I thought it looked cool. It wasn’t until the next GDQ (AGDQ 2020) that I was made aware that Fangamer also had a limited edition pin. So I picked up both pins and have ever since! (Luckily Fangamer also generally has a small number of the previous year(s) pins available and I was able to also grab the SGDQ 2019 pin.)
I thought the pins were so fun and wanted to know what the designs from previous years (that I didn’t have) looked like, but when I tried to search, thinking there must be someone who had a list, I couldn’t find one. Images of past pins are also hard to track down. I created this site to track them all in one place.
What is GDQ?
GDQ stands for Games Done Quick, a video game speed-running showcase event that takes place over a week in the winter (AGDQ) and a week in the summer (SGDQ). The event is held to raise money for charity and show off some pretty sweet speed-running tech.
What pins are included on the site?
This site focuses on the limited edition pins available during AGDQ and SGDQ. Other GDQ pins may be included, but they are not the primary focus of this site.
What pins do you own?
I have all the limited edition pins from both The Yetee and Fangamer starting with SGDQ 2019. Plus the lamp pin released during AGDQ 2021 because it was too wonderful not to get. With the exception of Timeskipper (which I bought six months later), I purchased all during their GDQ. I sadly do not have the CRDQ 2020 The Yetee pin as I learned of the event too late, but am on the lookout for it should one ever turn up for sale because I love it.
